As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, yoga and meditation teacher, I aim to empower people like you to take control of your health. At age 19, I received the frustrating news that there was little anyone could do for me, and some even suggested it was all in my head. But that only fuelled my determination to find a solution.
I tried EVERYTHING – endless stool softeners, bottomless prune juice, Chinese herbs, colonic irrigation and more (all I would NOT recommend). While some provided temporary relief, none offered a real solution.
Fed up with the lack of answers, I decided to educate myself and immersed myself in books and health documentaries. The breakthrough came when I realised the key was in my food. This discovery ignited my passion for nutrition, leading me to relocate to Canada and pursue further studies.
Through my focus on nutrition, I learned that we all have the power to regain control of our health. Food is not just a tool for preventing illness; it can be crucial in supporting and even reversing symptoms of conditions like mine.
My own battle with IBS gave me a deeper understanding of the power of the gut, both for our health and well-being.
Since then, I’ve worked with clients worldwide, helping them develop personalised programs and significantly improve or eliminate symptoms of various ailments.
My ultimate goal is to share this life-changing knowledge with the world. I want to show that well-being goes beyond physical health; it’s a transformative lifestyle that positively impacts mental and emotional well-being through mindful eating, movement, and living.
So, why wait? Let’s prioritise gut health and start this journey together!
My journey with yoga and meditation began in my mid-teens when my uncle, a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism, introduced me to their transformative power. Since then, yoga has become an inseparable part of my life, guiding me towards physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
In 2015, my passion for yoga was taken to the next level, and I became a certified yoga teacher. Through this path, I discovered profound connections between the mind and body, especially concerning gut health.
At MsHolistic, I firmly believe in the potential of yoga and meditation to influence the gut-brain axis, which plays a crucial role in gut health. Extensive research highlights the communication between the mind and gut through this axis (Vasant et al., 2021), and many individuals have experienced reductions in symptoms and even relief from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) through these practices (Silva, 2022).
As someone who has personally experienced the benefits of yoga, I am passionate about sharing these insights with others. Together, we can work towards achieving harmony within your body and mind by incorporating personalised nutrition, yoga sessions, and mindfulness meditation into a holistic approach to gut health.
